PADI Open Water Course
This course comprises of five Academic presentations, five Confined Water dives, and four Open Water dives. The course is generally conducted over a period of four to five days dependent on abilities, and numbers. Once gained, your qualifications are yours to keep and enjoy, not just here in Mulege, but worldwide. Your PADI Open Water certification is more than a mere card, it is a passport to a lifetime of diving pleasurebar none!!
All your basic skills will be practiced in shallow water to help you gain confidence in your new found environment. This is your Confined Water training, and can take place either in a swimming pool, or better still, in the ocean and playing with the fishes.
Then we progress to deeper waters for your Open Water dives. Your first two dives are to a maximum depth of 12m, 40ft. The first dive is purely for pleasure and experience. No formal skills are asked of you on this dive. Just relax and enjoy it!! Open Water dive two is also for pleasure and experience, but here we ask you to demonstrate some of the skills you learnt in Confined Water.
Open Water dives three and four take you down a little deeper to a maximum depth of 18m, 60ft. This is the maximum recommended depth for Open Water Divers. Again you will be asked to redo some of the skills you mastered in Confined Water training. There is nothing new at all.
Throughout this water work process, you will be given academic presentations on your new found sport at an entry level. Part of the course will be reviewing what you have learned using the PADI Open Water Manual (included in the price), you will use this while going through presentations with your PADI Instructor.
Courses start virtually daily, and are reasonably flexible to suit your personal requirements. This means you can still manage to find time to sit on the beach, enjoy a Piņa Colada and just relax away from home!
